A: The duration of treatment varies according to the complexity of the problem, growth and development, and patient cooperation; the average treatment time is between 18 and 24 months. Every case is unique though, and an indication of the expected treatment time will be given during the case discussion. After active treatment is complete, patients will go into a retention phase and will still be seeing the orthodontist although on a less frequent basis.
